GL events, listed on the Paris stock exchange, and one of the leading international
players
in
events organisation, management of exhibition centres and areas and supplying
of services,
has invested in a consistent manner in Italy in recent years. Italy is France’s
second market after their internal one.
In Italy, in addition to Promotor International,
GL events owns the Turin exhibition centre
Lingotto Fiere, and 80% of the management company
of Padua Exhibition Centre, the remaining 20%
is in public ownership. It is also partner
in the Bologna Exhibition Centre - of which
it now holds 8.7% - and in the Rimini Exhibition
Centre, with 4.2%.
From the 30 January 2009 the business reorganisation of the group GL events’ activities has been put into operation in Italy. This has as its aim, the creation of a more definitive and streamlined organisational model with a single active team in each target territory and with an immediately recognisable identity.
So as of today the holding company, GL events Italia S.p.A., unites some of the Italian activities of GL events under it, specifically those relative to the Turin Exhibition Centre of Lingotto Fiere and those of Promotor International, a set-up dedicated to the organisation of shows and events.
Lingotto Fiere manages the Turin Exhibition
Centre – which in 2008 hosted 50 events
including trade fairs, conferences and conventions
such as Fiera Internazionale del Libro
and Salone del Gusto– as
well as the hands-on organisation of shows
such as the Wine Show, whilst Promotor International – a
key company with an office in Bologna – deals
with the organisation of specific trade fairs,
in particular those dedicated to the automobile
sector, such as the Bologna Motor Show,
International Automobile Exhibition and the
Rimini My Special Car Show, the Special and
Sports Cars
Exhibition.
